John Wick 5 gets a new update from Chad Stahelski following some conflicting reports. After the franchise got its start back in 2014, Keanu Reeves returned as the titular assassin last year for the acclaimed John Wick: Chapter 4. The film was a massive hit, and interest has since remained high for a potential John Wick 5, but that film hasn’t yet moved forward.
During a recent interview with Business Insider in celebration of the first John Wick‘s 10th anniversary, Stahelski comments on his relationship to the franchise and what it would take to return for a fifth entry. Though the director says that a strong story idea hasn’t yet presented itself, he makes clear that both he and Reeves would be happy to return should that change. Check out his comment below:

Yeah. If we felt we weren’t ripping the fans off and had more to give, I’d do it tomorrow. I just don’t have that right now. The other stuff I’m working on are great properties, and I’m excited, but nothing is going to beat this.
