Alexandre Lacazette will jet in to London for a medical with Arsenal ahead of his proposed transfer to the Gunners, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News HQ reporter has claimed that Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee with Lyon for the transfer of the 26-year-old striker.
According to Solhekol, Arsenal’s opening bid for the striker was rejected but the Gunners are set to get the deal over the line for a fee of around £44m.
And it would seem that Arsenal are set to secure the signing of the France international this week.
Solhekol said on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday: “Lyon rejected Arsenal’s opening offer of about £39m but a deal is close to being agreed for about €50million, that’s about £44m.
“Lacazette has been on holiday in America but is due to have talks with Lyon today and Lyon’s president expects Lacazette to fly to London for a medical either today or on Wednesday.”
Arsenal have been linked with a host of players this summer, but the Gunners have so far only secured the signing of left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.
The Gunners do not have the lure of Champions League football to attract new players this summer after Arsene Wenger’s side ended up fifth in the Premier League table last season.
However, Arsenal did end the season on a high by beating Chelsea to win the FA Cup back in May.
