Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known as Wizkid smashed Spotify’s record by drawing 8 million monthly listeners on the platform.

He had the digit on 6.9million before but he has now overtaken his own record breaking figure as he clocks 8million now.

By so doing, Wizkid became the first African to achieve the feat. The previous record was held by Congolese rapper and singer, Maitre Gims. He had seven million monthly listeners.
