Singer Britney Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari has reportedly filed for divorce.

 

TMZ reported that he filed for divorce just after 14 months of marriage.

 

Recall that Asghari and Spears tied the knot on June 9, 2022, about 10 months after the songwriter announced their engagement.

 

Asghari filed for divorce on Wednesday on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences”.

 

In the filing, Asghari is asking for spousal support and attorneys fees.

 

It is believed that Asghari’s lawyer is speaking about contesting the prenuptial agreement Spears had made him sign.

 

ET sources revealed that Spears “has not been doing well” amid the split.

 

“She has been denying any cheating allegations and going through a lot of emotions. She has been trying to get back on her feet and be healthy emotionally, physically and mentally,” the source said.

 

Another source said Asghari and Spears “have had their ups and downs throughout the relationship”.

 

“Britney and Sam have had ups and downs throughout their relationship. They have had a lot of love for each other, but they also argue a lot over fundamental issues,” the source revealed.

 

“Sometimes they feel as though each other’s needs are not being completely met. Recently things took a bad turn and their arguments became more serious and real.”

 

Before Asghari, the singer had infamously tied the knot with Jason Alexander on January 3, 2004. She, however, ended the union after 55 hours.

 

On September 19, 2004, she married Kevin Federline. The pair welcomed two kids. The couple later divorced in 2007.
