Popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has dumped African Democratic Congress (ADC) and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection was announced by the APC via a post on its X (formerly Twitter).

According to the post shared by the ruling party, Dikeh, who was the Rivers State deputy governorship candidate of the ADC in the 2023 election, was unveiled on Monday.

The actress was unveiled by the APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

Recall that Tonto Dikeh was the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State for the 2023 election.

She and her principal, Tonte Ibraye, lost the election to Siminialayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the ruling party in the state.
